An LGBT rights group in Germany (Schwulenberatung) promises to give a new home to the LGBT refugees from Syria. The Berlin city council supports the initiative. Many refugees have to move out of their hostels when it turns out that they are gay. The new LGBT shelter is the way to overcome discrimination, cultural isolation and violence against LGBT refugees. Violence means not only psychological abuse, but also physical – there are reports about broken arms and noses, even murder attempts
The refugees hope that the shelter will be a good improvement for LGBT people suffering from different kinds of abuse. Such a problem exists not only in Germany, but also in The Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. That is why the LGBT shelter in Germany is the first step to solve a global, worldwide problems.
