Gay content is banned on Chinese TV

Homosexuality is considered as abnormal sexual behavior together with sexual assault and incest. Chinese law forbids to show abnormal sexual behavior on TV, that is why gay TV dramas are also banned. The China Television Drama Production Industry Association and the China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television recently issued new ‘TV content production guidelines’ after a gay high school drama ‘Addicted’ was deleted from streaming websites without any warning. It is a 15-episode story about a high school gay couple. The first episode broke records when it was released on 29 January, racking up 10 million hits in 24 hours. The fans of it are very unsatisfied with their inability to watch the last 3 episodes. It is necessary to admit that homosexuality is no0t abnormal by the Chinese law for 15 years already, but this law does not concern TV content .
