The ‘Attitude’ magazine already called the brand new work of the band ‘one of the most important gay music videos’. The video is for the newest remix for the song ‘Desire’ featuring Swedish star Tove Lo. The musicians are not afraid to show the gay love in the grotesque form. The frontman of ‘Years and Years’ Olly Alexander says that it is very important for LGBT community to be represented on screens. He calls LGBT people ‘my queer family’ and says that making a video with them and about them is a dream which he kept in his mind for a very long time and ‘Desire’ is a perfect song for this dream to finally come true. He adds that LGBT people of the showbusiness industry are his heroes, because he, being openly gay, dealt with pressure from society. “We shouldn’t have to feel scared about putting our sexualities and identities on display in all their beautiful, interlocking, multi-layered multi-coloured glory “I want to be proud. Proud to shove it in people’s faces if I want to.”, he describes the video in part and his social position in general.
