The Dutch city of Utrecht is one more European city which decided to support the initiative of installing special traffic lights on the pedestrian crossings. The new traffic lights feature same-sex couples holding hands. The purpose of the new traffic lights is to teach people to be tolerant to sexual minorities. Waiting for the green light a person may think about his attitude towards LGBT. The first country with such gay traffic lights was Austria. Gay traffic lights were installed there after Conchita Wurst’s win of Eurovision song context. Utrecht represents itself as an LGBT-supporting city not for the first time – it was the first city in Netherlands which replaced a zebra with a rainbow crossroad.
