The Minister of State for Children and Families in the UK is for gay adoption

Edward Timpson who grew up among foster brothers and sisters, understands like nobody else that the most important thing in adoption (as well as in fostering) is an intention to care about someone and to give love. And the sexual preferences don’t really matter. The minister also brings statistics which says that the number of adoptions by LGBT couples has risen almost four-fold, to 450 last year – one in 12 of all adoptions over those twelve months were by same-sex couples. These numbers are really exciting, but the minister says that there are still many orphans who need loving and caring parents, so the government is going to encourage potential adapters (including those who belong to the LGBT community) financially.
