The meeting of the USA President and the Prime Minister of Canada is already called historical. And the purpose of this meeting also can be called historical – two political leaders met to celebrate the marriage equality.
The meeting took place in the USA. Barack Obama welcomed Justin Trudeau in the White House. By the way, no Canadian leader has been to the White House for the last 19 years.
The leaders discussed many global problems such as changes in the climate and healthcare, but the main attention was paid to same-sex marriages which are now legalized in both countries.
“No matter what province or state you live in, you have the freedom to marry the person you love,” said President Obama.
“We’re celebrating 10 years of taking the decision the Supreme Court in the US just took,” Trudeau told Canada’s Global News at Toronto Pride, “It’s a great day for freedom. It’s wonderful to see political leaders, celebrating this.”
