‘Blue man group’ have cancelled North Carolina show

The trio was going to perfrorm in North Carolina in the middle of June, but now they are joining the celebrities who cancel their performances in North Carolina as a sign of protest against the anti-gay bill. The group issued a statement yesterday, 22 April, saying it respected ‘every individual’s right to live a dignified, vibrant life in full color. As such, we are joining the growing list of entertainment professionals in protest of North Carolina’s HB2 law.’ The concerts were scheduled for Charlotte, from 17 June to 19 June. HB2, signed by Governor Pat McCrory, bans all local LGBTI rights ordinances in the state and was pushed forward to override an ordinance in Charlotte that would have allowed transgender people to use the bathroom of their gender identification.
