Sharmila Nair is hoping that the clothing line will encourage other designers to welcome and celebrate trans women, Metro reports. The designer has invited two transgender models to represent her collection. At first the transgender women had some doubts about whether they should work as models, but now they are completely in love with the collection and the job they do.
They said that the collection is very beautiful and based on traditional Indian motives. And for trans women it could only be a dream to wear, for example, such kinds of traditional female clothes as sari. But Nair’s collection turned this dream to reality, showing that transgender people exist in India and they also can allow themselves to be beautiful and feminine. Indian transgender fashion is only on the start, but it is definitely a lucky start.
