Employees of the Turkish security forces detained three people suspected of having links with Islamic terrorists and planning terrorist attacks during gay pride parade in Istanbul.
One of the detainees – the Turks, and two others – natives of Dagestan, or, according to other sources, the Chechen Republic, have Russian citizenship.
The suspects were arrested last Tuesday on 21 June. During the search they had found suicide belts and military uniforms, knives, laser rangefinder and documents testifying to their involvement in terrorism.
Attackers, according to Turkish media, planned to blow himself up in a gay pride parade, to be held on Sunday, 19 June. However, the Turkish authorities have banned it, and the members dispersed with water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets.
