According to the Flemish central adoption, in 2014 same-sex couples have adopted children 50% more. 14 out of 30 adopted children in 2015 in Belgium find your family in same-sex couples. In 2014, the ratio was 6 out of 25.
Belgium is one of the most progressive countries in the world in relation to members of the LGBT community. This country has become in 2003 the second in the world to legalize same-sex marriage (the first was the Netherlands in 2001). In 2006 same-sex couple were granted the same legal right to adopt children as heterosexual couples.
