Israeli president spoke out against violence on the eve of gay parade in Jerusalem

On July 17, Mick Banki was invited to the Israeli president’s residence in Jerusalem, she is Banki Shira’s mother, 16-year-old girl who was killed by a religious fanatic at the gay parade a year ago.

During the conversation, President Reuven Rivlin said that the difference of opinions between the people on various issues, including on sexual orientation should not be a pretext for violence.

Meeting Rivlin and Banki was held on the eve of the annual “March of pride” which should be held later this week in Jerusalem.

In recent days, the police conduct a thorough check of houses in the streets through which the procession will pass.
