North Carolina’s Governor is now actively attacking businesses and employers who boycott the state over its anti-LGBT law. North Carolina lost a lot of important international business inventions when the HB2 was signed into law. McCrory continues to insist the anti-trans rules are “common sense”, but the state has faced a string of lawsuits, as LGBT groups believe HB 2 to be a clear violation of the US Constitution.
NBA decided to move the All Star Games out of the state. In the wake of the decision, McCrory has decided the sensible way to attract investment to his state is to lob abuse at people who have decided to leave. In a statement, his office fumed at Adam Silver, Commissioner of the NBA. It says: “Commissioner Silver has no credibility in telling America that he’s more ‘comfortable’ playing a basketball game in the People’s Republic of China with its oppressive human rights record, rather than the 9th most populous state in the U.S.A. This is another classic example of politically-correct hypocrisy gone mad.” It added: “We are proud that Louisiana has joined 21 other states that are fighting for basic privacy expectations for our children and families in school restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities”.
