Award-winning actor claimed gays to be the end of humanity

Lee Tien-chu celebrated winning a prestigious acting award in a peculiar fashion over the weekend calling homosexuality a course which will end humanity. The Taiwanese actor made the comments after receiving an a Golden Bell Awards (as prestigious as BAFTA and Emmy). Tien-chu picked up the ‘Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film Award’, but it was his post-ceremony rant that made headlines. Asked why he had rejected work in the past by reporters backstage, the actor claimed it was because he refused to “support homosexuality”. “I’ll be open about it,” he said. “I will not support homosexuality because it’s going to lead to the end of humanity.”
The staunch Christian also believes the Second Coming is imminent, because society is “all messed up”, according to Shanghaiist. Bizarrely, Tien-chu later claimed that he does “not hate gay people, I love them, I have compassion for them,” despite adding that he believes homosexuality is “wrong”. “This is why I’ve said no to so many gay productions that approached me for acting,” he added “I will not betray my faith just for a bit of money. Homosexuality is a huge curse to the future generation.”
