Pop music legend Cyndi Lauper and Will & Grace star Debra Messing are leading a Philadelphia gaybourhood bar crawl in support of the Democratic Presidential nominee. The pair will be joined by former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and U.S. Senate hopeful Katie McGinty as they tour six of Philly’s gay bars and try to drum up support for Clinton’s campaign.
Organised by the Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club, the ‘get-out-the-vote’ crawl will take place Friday night, just ahead of the state’s deadline for early voting on Saturday. It was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was apparently moved up a day to avoid a clash with a free Katy Perry concert that Clinton herself would be attending. Lauper has been vocal about her support of Clinton during the campaign so far. She claimed that Trump “reminds [her] of Hitler,” and earlier this year re-wrote a Kinky Boots song as a pro-trans bathroom protest.
