Former London Mayor and Trump’s VP try to form close connection

Boris Johnson and Mike Pence revealed that this is important for both of them to create the close relationships. The UK Foreign Secretary (who previously was the Mayor of the British capital) was one of the first who called Mike Pence when he was elected as VP.

“Just spoken to US VP-elect Mike Pence. We agreed on importance of the special relationship & need to tackle global challenges together”, Johnson said. “Just spoke to Boris Johnson. Discussed America’s longstanding and close relationship with the UK,” Pence recalled.

Johnson’s comments are the latest sign of a warm welcome from the UK government to the Trump/Pence administration.Prime Minister Theresa May has already been invited to Washington early into Trump’s term, and lavished praise on him in a statement.
