Critically acclaimed actress Meryl Streep has delivered another criticism of Trump admitting that it was rather terrifying for her to do it firstly. Maryl Streep made a speech at Human Rights Campaign fundraiser in New York, where she was accepting an award for her support to the community.

In her speech the actress said that after criticizing Trump she was attacked by “brownshirts and bots” for speaking out against the country’s new President. Using a play on his words, Ms Streep told the gala she was the most “berated” actress for daring to criticise him. “I am the most overrated and the most over-decorated and currently, I am the most over-berated actress, who likes football, of my generation,” she said, “It’s terrifying to put the target on your forehead and it sets you up for all sorts of attacks and armies of brownshirts and bots and worse, and the only way you can do it is if you feel you have to. You have to! You don’t have an option. You have to.”
