How To Get Away With Murder actor feels blessed that he can help gay teens to come out

Jack Falahee, who plays a gay character Connor Walsh in the popular series, previously opened up about his sexuality and said that he is straight. But it does not mean that he cannot support LGBT community and help his gay fans to accept themselves the way they are. Moreover, he considers it to be his mission which he is very proud of.

The actor says he used to be a rather awkward boy with overweight, but now people, both men and women, consider him attractive and it is still hard for him to believe in it. He receives a lot of massages of love from fans and he is very grateful for it. And when he reads that the story of Connor and his partner Oliver made young gay watchers come out to their parents and accept themselves, Jack realizes that his job is a real gift of God.

The way he thinks about sexuality has forever changed thanks to the show, which has been renewed for a fourth season following Oliver’s proposal to Connor in the dramatic third-season finale. Fans will be on tenterhooks to find out Connor’s answer – and will, no doubt, be writing fan fiction about the couple’s next steps – but at first, Falahee didn’t even realise his character was gay. “Going into this, it was never written on the page that ‘Connor Walsh is a homosexual,’” he said, “so when it came to the first love scene I just thought: ‘Wow, this guy is willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead’. Now I know that was the heteronormativity in my mind that was rationalising this whole aspect of his character.”
