Ann Coulter suggested that gays might have caused hurricane

Ann Coulter is wondering about whether Hurricane Harvey was “God’s punishment” for that fact that the mayor of the city damaged by the hurricane is a lesbian woman. The notorious far-right pundit made the shocking assertion as Texas continues to be crippled in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which has seen thousands displaced from their homes and at least 14 deaths. Coulter twitted that homosexuality seems to her more credible as a cause of the hurricane in comparison top climate change: “I don’t believe Hurricane Harvey is God’s punishment for Houston electing a lesbian mayor. But that is more credible than ‘climate change’.” The apparently unprompted assertion is a reference to Former Mayor of Houston Annise Parker, who served as Mayor until 2016. And the online audience did not believe Ms Coulter. Author John O’Farrell wrote: “You look back in history & think how can they’ve been so stupid to believe in witches & a flat earth etc. And then you read tweets like this”.Another Twitter user added: “Sometimes I wonder what it must be like to be this brazenly, brutally, irredeemably stupid. Is it fun? Does it make everything easy?”
