A popular Australian shopping district is Ditching Mr. Claus for A drag queen
Want you to travel someplace warm and queer-friendly for the holiday season?
What about a big, English-speaking city where drag queens rule?
The Chapel Street shopping-district in Melbourne, one of the most popular in the country, has dropped Santa Claus from its Christmas parade in favor of drag queens, and hopes to make happy and business by way of the holidays approach. “Chapel Street won’t do boring. It’s brave and full of color,” said Chrissie Maus, director of the chapel street shopping precinct association.
Some drag queens will start to Chapel Street. They will be riding in style in a BMW convertible.
The Daily Mail Australia has already informed that this move is “infuriating Christians and traditionalists.”
