The girlfriend of former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale supports her decision to appear at the Australian TV show I’m a Celebrity. She will donate her MSP salary to charity while she is in Australia filming the show which draws around 10 million viewers. The decision was highly criticized by her colleagues and voters, however the former politician’s girlfriend says Kezia had considered all the pros and cons before making a final decision. “I know Kez was upset about the way it affected Labour’s leadership result,” Jenny Gilruth continued, saying she is shocked about the amount of hateful remarks against Kezia, but not about her reaction on them – everybody would be upset. “The Labour party have some challenges to face politically – it would be refreshing if that ‘real change’ started with a bit of human decency,” Gilruth concluded.
