Rihanna asks not to use trans people as marketing tools

The pop diva slammed the brands which hire transgender women only to show that their brand is inclusive and supportive and to win people’s hearts this way. The global selling popstar took to social media to explain why she had not featured trans women in campaigns of her own beauty brand. To this Ri-Ri responded that she had the utmost respect for women, trans or otherwise, but did not want to hire models from minority groups as a “token” gesture, she works with trans women, she supports them and they are great, but it does not mean that there should be some special trans-only casting. “I respect all women. Whether they’re trans or not is none of my business. I don’t think it’s fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool,” she said, “Too often I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike. There’s always just that one spot in the campaign for the token ‘we look mad diverse’ girl/guy! It’s sad!”
