We wish you the gayest Christmas! Twitter hashtag unites the rainbow community for holidays

Gay people decided that the family holiday with its warm and festive atmosphere is a great opportunity to show how proud they are of being gay and to come out if they haven’t already, using a hashtag #chritmasgays. Using this hashtag people revealed their coming out stories, sang songs, shared pictures of themselves, their families, friends and animals, wished the New Year to be gayer (in all meanings!) and even looked for love. In 2017, we’ve appreciated the delights of #BiTwitter and #PanTwitter, an outpouring of joy, love and hilarious reminders that pansexual doesn’t mean an attraction to kitchenware. There was also #BlackGaySlay, the beautiful queer celebration of Black History Month, and #itsthelgbt, the hashtag which said: “We’re here, we’re proud, and we look amazing, dammit.”
