In a recent interview with The Guardian, he said that he is sure that social networks are not for children. He personally doesn’t have kids but he is an uncle who helps to bring up his nephew<, and one of the rules dictated by uncle Tim is 'No social networks'. ‘Technology by itself doesn’t want to be good and it doesn’t want to be bad either," Cook added, insisting that humans should be more attentive to the technologies and understand that they are not obligatory good.

Cook first discussed his sexuality in 2014. The following year he said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert: ‘It became so clear to me that kids were getting bullied in school, kids were getting basically discriminated against, kids were even being disclaimed by their own parents and that I needed to do something.’
