The Core Issues Trust, an evangelical Christian group which advocates for different kinds of practices, the aim of which is to ‘change’ people’s sexuality. The Core Issues Trust, an evangelical Christian group which advocates for efforts to change sexual orientation, has announced the screening of documentary ‘Voices of the Silenced: Experts, Evidences and Ideologies’. It features 15 people who claim that they have changed their sexuality thanking to faith in God or medical practices. The film creators consider it enough to believe that sexuality is not something people are born with. The group appears to have privately hired a cinema screen for the private event. In response to the screening, Humanists UK called on ministers to ban gay ‘cure’ therapy in UK and social media burst with criticism and irritation. Meddisavowinges in the UK including the NHS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding disvowing all attempts to ‘change’ sexual orientation. However, due the lack of a law regulating the practise it is still able to continue legally in the UK, practised primarily by fringe religious groups and unregulated quacks.
