How does it feel to live in social housing if you are LGBT?

An academic report supervised by the University of Surrey and Goldsmiths, University of London and spanned the six largest housing authorities in the UK has revealed that 0ne in two LGBT+ people leaving in social housing feels like strangers there and one of three has a fear for their safety or even life. Asking 260 LGBT+ people living in social housing about their experiences, the nationwide survey noted that many of them have to change locations for their landlord not to find out that they are gay, bi or trans. Twenty percent of residents say that they hide their personal stuff not to let other people make any conclusions by it about who they are. More than a third (34 percent) felt that housing providers have more work to do in dealing effectively with complaints about harassment and some reported that their complaints were either investigated slower than they should be or ignored at all.
