Pentagon announces new policy concerning trans militants

The Pentagon is expected to announce its new policy on transgender troops on Wednesday following months of the legal battles with Trump’s ban on transgender militants which ended against the administration – trans people were allowed to serve. But as it appears now, it was not the end. Lawyers from the Justice Department told U.S. District Judge Marvin Garbis earlier this month that they would be bringing a new policy on trans troops by the end of this week. This falls into the timeline set by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis who promised in September 2017 that he would work with a panel of experts to define the new policy by February 21, 2018. It is not clear what the policy is and what it would mean for trans people – good or bad, but they feel a premonition of regress .
