The first openly transgender Drag Race queen who identified as a woman on the show and has completed her transition into female when it ended has called out the host who said that he would not let a trans woman after transition take part in Drag Race. “Doing Drag Race was one of the best moments of my life. RuPaul kicked open so many doors for queer and gender non-conforming folks and is an absolute trailblazer in the world of drag,” Peppermint wrote, saying that masculinity, femininity, gender fluidity and self-identity are the issues which do not depend on other people’s opinion or number of surgeries a person has undergone, it is an inner feeling. She continued saying that women had won the right to do some things that used to be stereotypically male –
they serve in the army and work in the police, they wear trousers, they drive cars and so on, if someone says they could not do this, it would be offensive and discriminatory. Then why shouldn’t it work the same for doing drag?
