‘Gay cure’ therapist suspended for having sex with male patients

If you can’t win something, then lead it. This is a rule known from ancient times but Roman warriors could hardly imagine that one day it may be applied to gay sex and a person who claims to be able to make people stop having gay sex will encourage them to have it with him. Dr Melvyn Iscove, 72, was registered as a psychiatrist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and claimed to be able to ‘cure’ patients of ‘same-sex attraction’, but now it appears that he tried to do it by means of mutual masturbation and oral sex with two male patients and anal sex with one more. The committee wrote: “Neither complainant described any emotional or romantic aspects of the sexual activity with Dr Iscove, and both said that at some point, they thought that the sexual activity was part of the therapy and an attempt to cure them of homosexuality by engaging in the acts, rather than fantasizing about them.” Following the guilty hearing, his licence was immediately suspended and now he is expecting a trial though he strongly denies his guilt.
