The British pop star has finally released a long-awaited single ‘Girls’ featuring her female colleagues Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX and Cardi B. In the song, the chorus of which is ‘I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls’, they celebrate women loving women and don’t hide it. In her verse, Ora sings: “Her name is Lara, we learned a lot of / How to do it, like we do it, like we wanna / We just know.” She adds: “I ain’t one-sided, I’m open-minded / I’m fifty-fifty and I’m never gonna hide it,” so no wonder that fans interpreted it as Rita’s own coming out as bisexual. Referring to the line “I’m 50/50, and I’m not gonna hide it,” the star explained: “I’m not hiding what I am, who I am, if I wanna do this, if I wanna do that. That’s just how it’s gonna be”. In the same interview Rita added that she is proud to support LGBT community alongside her amazing fellow singers, she is definitely for equality and she sincerely believes that love is love, but as for herself, she rejects any labels — she is just Rita Ora and she does not want narrow-minded people to put her in the frame.
