A new trailer for biographical film Lizzie tells a story of a woman who was charged with her parents murder and then acquitted in 1892. The film, directed by Craig William Macneill, portrays Borden (Sevigny) as a social outcast in her 30s who meets She soon meets the younger Bridget Sullivan (Stewart) – her real-life rumored lover – after she comes to live with the Borden family as a housemaid, and they start developing a dark plan with a bad end. The murder case became a cause célèbre, and is a well-known topic in American pop culture. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January this year, and is set to be properly released in September. The movie also stars Fiona Shaw, Jay Huguley, Jamey Sheridan, Denis O’Hare, Kim Dickens, and Jeff Perry. The trailer shows two women’s intimacy, they hold hands and kiss.
