Israeli PM could not appease LGBT people

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a letter in response to criticism from the LGBT+ community who lost all trust to him as he refused to extend surrogacy to same-sex couples and single men. Netanyahu addressed the letter to Barbara “Goldy” Goldberg, Vice President of the World Congress of GLTB Jews (WDG), one of the organizations that had written to the prime minister to protest his stance on the surrogacy law which he originally promised to support. In the message dated July 31 the PM said he was proud to represent one of the most open and free democracies in the world and added that he supported LGBT Israelis. The letter failed to satisfy the concerns of LGBT+ activists, who have also accused Netanyahu’s government of“pinkwashing” for advertising Israel as a friendly country for LGBT tourists but refusing to legally protect LGBT folks of its own.
