A number of schools in Poland have cancelled planned activities to promote LGBT+ acceptance because the country’s government did not allow it. Over 200 schools were set to take part in Rainbow Friday, which was organized by civil rights group Campaign Against Homophobia. However, the education minister in the country’s conservative government, Anna Zalewska warned that if the school principals hold events of such kind then they are going to face consequences for their actions and these consequences will not mean anything good for them personally and their schools. It is not known how many schools cancelled their plans to take part in Rainbow Friday and how many of them still went ahead. In a statement to the Polish Press Agency, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education said that they would investigate schools that proceeded with plans for Rainbow Friday, to decide whether this event is not forbidden by the country’s laws
