Coffeehouse chain Starbucks said that it will block pornographic content on its WiFi from the next year, according to Business Insider as the chain has received numerous demands to block the access to the X-rated content since 2016. Other food chains, including Chick-fil-A and McDonald’s, have introduced filters to block porn on their WiFi networks. The spokesperson fir Starbucks says this measure is required to ensure the customers that it is a safe and welcoming place for everyone. More than 26,000 people have signed petition created by campaign group Enough Is Enough, which seeks to make the internet in public places more appropriate and acceptable for families with kids.Starbucks spokesperson told CNN that it was working towards a way to ban porn that “also doesn’t involuntarily block unintended content.” A number of food chains have inadvertently banned access to LGBT+ content on their WiFi networks through anti-pornography filters.
