Comedian Kevin Hart is facing widespread backlash after historic homophobic tweets, it part mocking lesbians and using the F-slur repeatedly. The tweets were posted between 2009 and 2012. The tweets have been made viral as it was announced that Hart is to be the one to host the Oscar ceremony next year. Hart appeared to respond to the social media criticism, writing on Twitter that he is too busy with being happy and loving his two children to bother about other people’s hate towards him. Hart has previously come under fire for anti-gay comments he made during his 2010 Seriously tour. By then he defended himself saying that his words were nothing rather than an unsuccessful attempt to joke. “It’s about my fear,” he said, “I’m thinking about what I did as a dad, did I do something wrong, and if I did, what was it? Not that I’m not gonna love my son or think about him any differently. The funny thing within that joke is it’s me getting mad at my son because of my own insecurities — I panicked. It has nothing to do with him, it’s about me.”
