The Fox News pundit faced massive backlash after he said on his talk show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, earlier this month that mass immigration “makes our country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided.” However, this discriminatory remark is far from being the only one in his record. Responding to his comments, at least 20 companies—including Land Rover, IHOP, and Just For Men—reportedly announced they would pull their adverts from the show. GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis called these remarks un-American, but they did not come as a surprise for her, considering the anchor’s past.In 2017, Carlson boasted about beating up a gay man after he caught him having sex in a public toilet. In 2014, Carlson compared a bakery being made to produce a wedding cake for a gay couple to “fascism.” In 2006, Carlson called transgender people mentally unstable and said they did not deserve teaching kids, and he also noted that he did not believe trans women to be women and felt they had no right to be put in female prisons.
