The victims, who got on a Hammersmith & City line train at Plaistow around 7:25am on August 9 2018, were attacked by a woman after asking her whether she could move her bag to let them sit, but she responded with a rude homophobic tirade. She proceeded to throw a cup of coffee at the men and punched one of them in the face several times. The woman is reported to have departed the train at Bromley by Bow station, two stops after the gay couple got on. One of the gay victims was left with a swollen lip and minor injuries to the arm, the Evening Standard has reported. The woman was not identified but British transport police reveal her picture and are currently seeking witnesses or those who can identify the perpetrator.
