Donnie Romero, who preached at the Stedfast Baptist Church in Texas, has been forced to step down after it emerged that he used the service of sex workers several times. The pastor is known for a number of extremely homophobic remarks, in part he said that the Orlando shooting victims deserved to die. The now disgraced pastor appeared at the church on Wednesday where he addressed the congregation and told them that he had been disqualified from his role in the church for his sins of neglecting the duties of a husband and a father, also urging his former congregation not to blame his family for his own mistakes. Another Pastor, Steven Anderson, then stood up to take questions from those gathered. In a follow up video posted on YouTube by Anderson, he said that the major sin involved was smoking marijuana, gambling and having sex with prostitutes. Meanwhile, pastor Jonathan Shelley, who currently leads Pure Words Baptist Church in Houston, will take over from Romero at Stedfast Baptist Church, according to a video he posted on YouTube.
