Illinois governor JB Pritzker’s campaign was branded transphobic

A transgender woman has filed an employment discrimination lawsuit against the campaign of Governor of Illinois JB Pritzker. She used to run his election campaign and according to her lawsuit, she was dismissed with no reason, and she strongly believed that her gender identity was an issue. On January 18, she filed a federal lawsuit against Pritzker’s campaign, alleging she was dismissed on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as there is no legal protection for people who are discriminated against on the basis of their gender identity in Illinois. Her co-workers allegedly witnessed the supervisor “making comments indicating that she viewed transgender identity in a prurient manner”, with the supervisor alleged to have described Todd as a transphobe who could easily reject an employee just because she was trans.
