Daniel Kurmelovs, 18, was sentenced to serve at least 25 years in prison on January 29th for strangling a man whom he had met in Manchester Gay Village. The victim, named Frank Lennon, allegedly asked his young lover to strangle him during sex, and he lost a moment when the situation got out of his control and Lennon was not breathing anymore. It took less than an hour for the Crown Court judges to sentence Kurmelovs. During the five hours he was in the property, he tried to hide the evidence by “squirting liquids, pastes and gels from a variety of containers on Mr Lennon’s body,” Paul Reid QC told the court, adding that the murderer also cut the victim’s face when he stopped breathing, to check whether he was alive, after he understood that Lennon was dead, he stole some of his possessions and escaped. The teen admitted using drugs that day
