The leader of the Australian Conservatives, Cory Bernardi, has suggested that the legalization of same-sex marriage in his country could inspire zoophiles to fight for being legally approved as well. In an interview with Sky News Australia, Bernardi, who campaigned against legalizing same-sex marriages as it would mean that no kind of sexual relationship will be socially unacceptable in Australia anymore – pedophilia, bestiality and polyamory would also find their ways to get a legal approval, he believes. Bernardi resigned from his post as Liberal Party leader Tony Abbott’s parliamentary secretary in 2012, after his inflammatory comments about bestiality, made during a Senate debate, caused outrage. And now he ensures the audience that he believed any forms of marriages rather than a monogamous opposite-sex marriages to be irrational and provocative towards further distorting of the vision of human relationships, normalizing something which is not normal.
