LGBT celebrities shined bright on the BRIT Awards red carpet

The stars led a host of celebrities arriving on Wednesday (February 20) for the event at The O2 arena in London. Many nominees were the members of the LGBT, community or the allies including Olly Alexander (pictured), the frontman of the indie-pop trio Years & Years, as well as the openly gay hitmaker Sam Smith, the queer female music sensation Janelle Monáe, the bisexual songbird Anne Marie, the mommy who raises her children without stereotypes and does not label herself, Pink, and the Kosovo native who addresses the global issues in her songs (such as the AIDS crisis) Dua Lipa. Another celebrity to pose on the red carpet was Kevin Abstract, one of the founding members of Brockhampton, a US collective nominated for best international group. “I have to exist in a homophobic space in order to make change and that homophobic space would be the hip hop community. So, me just existing and being myself is making change and making things easier for other young queer kids.”
