The queer singer and actress Lady Gaga approached Cardi B to congratulate her for making history as the first woman to win the Grammy award for the Best Rap Album not in the band but solo. It’s not clear what the two told one another, but pictures of the encounter show that Cardi is fascinated by Gaga and she is amazed and shocked that she is able to talk to the star of such level. Cardi B has previously called Lady Gaga one of her biggest inspirers and role models in expressing herself with no fear and shame of who she truly is. Cardi B is evidently still part of the Little Monsters fan base, posting on Twitter in January the chorus to Gaga’s 2009 hit “Monster” and sparking calls among her supporters to collab with Gaga one day. Lady Gaga too seems to appreciate Cardi B’s music, posting an Instagram story on Sunday of herself celebrating her three Grammy awards to the tune of Cardi’s “I Like It,” particularly the part that references her “Paparazzi” song.
