The lesbian mums from Harrogate, north Yorkshire, posted a job advert on Childcare.co.uk —the UK’s largest platform for childcare providers and parents. They said that it was a principle issue for them that the nanny should be a man, ‘manny’, as they call it. As their 6-year-old girl grows up with 2 moms, she does not understand that men also can be loving, caring, trustworthy and reliable, and oif she is straight (and she is likely to be straight) it would be harder for her to build romantic relationships without trusting men. The lesbian couple are offering £35,000 for the role, which will include 20 days holiday plus bank holidays. The male nanny is required to have a clean driving license; a minimum of two years’ experience in nannying “or a similar role;” and first aid training. The lesbian parents added that candidates “must be looking for a long-term job” because they “hope to keep the successful Manny on for the foreseeable future, at least till her teenage years, so they have time to build a strong bond.”
