New York City councilman blamed gay people for Amazon deal scuppering

New York City councilman Rubén Díaz said that Amazon has canceled plans to build more headquarters in the city because of so-called gay agenda. Díaz, a long-serving New York City politician and a Pentecostal minister, has faced calls to resign over his attacks on city council speaker Corey Johnson over his sexuality and allegedly making the city gay-controlled. Díaz tweeted: “Amazon’s HQ2 leaving is another case of the abuse of power from some City Council Members. This is all because of [a gay Democratic politician] Jimmy Van Bramer. He organized folks to push back on Amazon and even got [Corey Johnson] to fight back as well.” Van Bramer replied to Díaz that he was paranoid and delusional, and also full of hatred towards the LGBT community.“Using the Amazon decision to pull out as proof of a vast gay conspiracy just proves what I have been saying. Resign already,” he tweeted.
