Two people arrested in connection with Jussie Smollett’s case

Two men have been detained in relation to the attack of Smollett on January 29, during which he was subjected to homophobic slurs and had a chemical substance poured on him. The arrested men are bloodily related, their guilt in the attack on Smollett is yet to be proven, their connection to this case needs to be investigated before they are officially charged. A Chicago police spokesperson told NBC: “Detectives have probable cause that they may have been involved in an alleged crime and we are working to corroborate the allegations and investigative timeline as our investigation continues.” According to TMZ, the FBI is working with the Empire crew to hunt down the person or people behind a threatening letter sent to Smollett days before the attack. Sources told TMZ that Empire hired a private security company to set up a system of screening all mail received by the cast with the FBI as Smollett is not the only member of the cast to have received a hateful letter.
