Donald Trump praised progress in tackling HIV

As we reported earlier today, the second person who had had HIV currently has no virus determinate in his blood. This news was celebrated by the President of the United States Donald Trump via Twitter. “‘HIV Is Cured In 2nd Patient, Doctors Report.’ @nytimes Such great news for so many. Tremendous progress being made!” And even though it did not happen in his country, Trump celebrates it like an achievement of his own. He previously vowed to eliminate HIV in his country. The president has previously stated during a State of the Union speech: “My budget will ask Democrats and Republicans to make the needed commitment to eliminate the HIV epidemic in the United States within 10 years. Together, we will defeat AIDS in America”. But his actions went contrary his words as the president fired the entire presidential advisory council on HIV/AIDS in 2017. Trump fired the remaining members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) after six members resigned in protest of his policies, reports POZ.
