The gay Democratic challenger, who is mayor of South Bend, Indiana, spoke out about the fast food chicken chain that is under fire among the LGBT community because of giving donations to groups that are listed as anti-LGBT. The Presidential hopeful says that he wants gay people to eat chicken with no guilt. And he is ready to take a personal responsibility for it, as he likes their chicken, though, of course, disapproves homophobia. “Maybe if nothing else, I can build that bridge. Maybe I’ll become in a position to broker that peace deal,” he said, noting that there are many people who use their identities as division, ‘I am X, Y and Z, and you are not, you don’t know me, so we have nothing to talk about’, but diversity should unite, not separate. “I have no clue what it’s like to walk in the shoes of so many other people, but I can talk about some of the pieces of what I carry with me, and see if it rhymes with their life experience. We’ve got back to that, before this current presidency completely tears us apart,” he concludes.
