Taylor Swift was not born in Tennessee, but she grew up there and her career started there, so she believes this state to be her home. And as a prominent LGBT ally, who shared st6age with such queer icons as Hayley Kiyoko and Troye Sivan, Taylor could not look at the situation with LGBT rights in this state without pain in her heart, so she decided to change it. So, the singer made a six-figure donation to the Tennessee Equality Project, accompanying it wit5h the handwritten note to the organization’s CEO. Dear Chris, I’m writing you to sat that I’m so inspired by the work you do, specifically in organizing the recent petition of Tennessee faith leaders standing up against the ‘Slate of Hate’ in our state legislature,” the pop star wrote, asking to accept her donation as a sign of gratefulness for the work the group does, particularly in giving all people equal space for expressing their faith, not only faith in God, but faith in themselves and the world around them. The picture of the letter was posted on Facebook by the Tennessee Equality Project, who specified in their post that the donation amounted to $113,000, 13 is Taylor Swift’s lucky number because she was born on December 13th. “Taylor Swift has been a long-time ally to the LGBTQ community.
