A transgender student who is studying at the University of Texas in Austin (UT) has lost his scholarship after the ban on transgender militants was enacted in the USA. Map Pesqueira was awarded a national three-year Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarship to fund his studies, according to Daily Texas Online. However, the Department of Defense has rejected his scholarship and it is financially impossible for him to complete his education, so he started crowdfuding at least to finish his degree. He has started a GoFundMe with the goal of raising $20,000 so he can continue studying through his sophomore year. “Since I’ve already had top surgery, hormone replacement therapy, gender marker and [a] name change, I can’t go in under this policy,” Pesqueira said, calling the ban a waste of time, as well as a waste of personal and human resources, which brought his future education and his future in general under question, as well as he has always known he was a boy, he has always known that he would be a military officer, but the current policy of his country made it impossible.
