Lena Waithe was a guest judge at RuPaul’s drag race

The black lesbian filmmaker joined comedian Wanda Sykes on the panel of episode 11 of season 11 of Drag Race. At the beginning of the episode, Ru challenges the queens to slap one another for a prize, with Brooke Lynn Hytes winning the competition. RuPaul then summoned six of the season’s eliminated queens – Plastique Tiara, Ariel Versace, Shuga Cain, Scarlet Envy, Honey Davenport and Soju – to start the main part of the competition. Each contestant had to give a makeover to one of the returning queens to transform them into a member of their own drag family. Silky and Nina West were ended up lipsyncing for their lives to TLC’s No Scrubs, which saw Silky saved. Social media users were excited about Waithe as a judge, saying that she coped with this role perfectly. “@LENAWAITHE IS FINALLY ON DRAG RACE I AM HOLLERING!!!” one person wrote on Twitter. Another added: “Can I just say… @iamwandasykes and @LenaWaithe feel SO RIGHT as judges on #DragRace.” “Am sooooooo living for @LenaWaithe and @iamwandasykes. Two amazing, amazing people.
